Reyna,As a young woman whose passion is to one day open my own Latin American Art gallery, your bio on your lovely web site struck a particular cord in me which prompted me to write. I currently work as a technology consultant for a very large consulting firm. Although my work is interesting and cutting edge, my dream is to promote the art that has moved me and filled my walls and life with so much joy. In your bio I was particularly inspired by your return to school to pursue your art passion and subsequent dedication of your life to its promotion. Made me want to rush out and start fulfilling my dream… hence the note! Thanks for putting such a great website out there and for the inspiring bio. I will stop by your gallery next time I am in New York! Jennifer Fallows, March 2002.

To Henaine Fine Art: Just to let you know that I was blown away by Leslie’s exhibit at your Port Chester Gallery. The photos were amazing. It was such a treat to find an “artsy” section of Westchester. The gallery was really cool, and the gallery owner was raving about the show, saying she has had so much activity around it. Great write up in the Times on it!!! Thanks for letting me know. Cathy Neiman. New Jersey, June 2002

Reyna: Your website is terrific, and the art is like nothing I’ve ever seen. Mr. Sully, my high school honors English teacher had told me to take an art history class when I went to college; I never did, and I think I regret it now. I read about your life and your travels, it’s quite a life! You are a person that goes after your passion, and that’s something I definitely can relate to. You had this energy around you…that you are one of the Real People! Umut Bitlisli, Chester NJ, Sept 2002

Dear Reyna,
Cuban Fusion, our most recent exhibition of contemporary Cuban art here at the Bendheim Gallery, was a smashing success. The sculpture, photography, and wall-hung pieces were colorful, exciting and challenging, and helped extend the Arts Council’s reach to include our Latino neighbors with this collection of relevant and festive work.
Cuban Fusion provided the community of Greenwich with an important educational component as demonstrated by bi-lingual gallery tours and signage, lectures led by art historian Gustavo Valdez, an Afro-Cuban music workshop, and many other events that centered around this exhibition, all of which increased the visibility of and attendance at the Bendheim Gallery.
And I can safely say that this exhibition would not have happened at all if it weren’t for your efforts. As a guest curator, you met with artists and artist representatives, went to galleries and studios in search of cutting edge art, helped shape the focus of the exhibit, and worked with our gallery crew in writing and translating the wall text and artist labels.
I cannot underplay the importance of this exhibit for the Greenwich Arts Council and the Town of Greenwich. With Cuban Fusion, we were able to broaden our outreach to include a world view. I thank you for your assistance in making that happen.

I wish to make known by this web site the pleasure that I have had in knowing for eighteen years my friend Mrs. Reyna Henaine, an outstanding woman and an expert who plays a leading role in the promotion of Contemporary Art from Mexico.
Reyna has dedicated practically all her professional life to the project of promoting and spreading the art from Mexico to an international level. In her profession, one of the invariable constant in her life has been her profound knowledge, her perseverance, and her honesty, achieving always with outstanding results all the projects that she has undertaken.
During the last seven years that Mrs. Henaine has been striving to promote Contemporary Mexican Art in the State of New York, I am able to state with pride and satisfaction that Mrs. Henaine has demonstrated an outstanding capacity and sensitivity in order to function as curator and juror of my exhibitions and that of other well known artists of Mexico.
In that which relates to me, personally, I am an established and well known artist of Mexico who has given my full confidence to Mrs. Henaine, who has managed my artistic career and developed my artistic project, representing me in museums, galleries, art fairs and in front of major art collectors throughout the world. The result of her work has been very successful, for which I am deeply grateful.
To close, words fail me to adequately give all kind of compliments and describe the person of Reyna Henaine who has great potential that will have extremely high value for the expanding appreciation of Mexican Contemporary Art in the United States.

I personally know Mrs. Reyna Henaine since several years ago whose gallery has been very close to my gallery working in parallel projects as well as numerous shows. She has been curator of Exhibitions in Cultural Institutions in the State of New York and Connecticut, where our artists have been selected to participate in several exhibitions, achieving outstanding results.
Mrs. Henaine has an extensive academic background in the area of modern art from Mexico and has been a tireless promoter of the art of Latin America in the United States and abroad. She has undertaken several interesting cultural projects, authenticate works of art and write reports and articles in art catalogues, books and newspapers.
Mrs. Henaine has the expertise with the extensive foundation of studies and research to be able to undertake the acquisition of masterpieces from Latin America. She has as well the outstanding ability to promote and spread the knowledge of a piece of art with the objective to sell high quality pieces of art to Private Collections, Institutions, Museums and Auction Houses.
Purchasers of high-end pieces of art strongly rely on Mrs. Henaine knowledge and expertise.

This letter concerns Reyna Henaine, who curated an exhibition of Latin American art (“Friends and Neighbors: Contemporary Art from Cuba and Mexico”) at The Rye Arts Center in October-November 2000. The exhibition was a critical success, garnering impressive press coverage and bringing in large audiences to the exhibition and related events.
The community very much enjoyed viewing the works in the Gallery, which ranged from updated interpretation of Cubism and Surrealism to sensitive photographs and exquisite sculpture. Ms. Henaine introduced hundreds of people to recent Latin American not only through the exhibition but also by training docents who led school groups on guided tours of the Gallery. She also arranged for several artists to visit the Gallery and address educators there.
Some time after this exhibition, Ms Henaine opened a loft gallery in neighboring Port Chester, which many of our constituents have visited to learn more about Latin American and other art.
Ms. Henaine’s continuing commitment to staging high-quality exhibitions and to educating the public about art is a commendable activity. She is a welcome addition to the community and the art world!

It is Ms. Henaine’s strong academic and business background that ranks her among the top art promoters of Mexican art living the United States today. She has achieved great success as President of RH Latin American Art and as director of Henaine Fine Art, her gallery in Westchester County. This is due to her expertise in the field, acquired in 3 decades of working with artists and collectors, and a natural ability to reach the most discerning clients in Mexico and abroad who rely on Mrs. Henaine knowledge of the market. As a dealer, Reyna Henaine has achieved top prices for works of the Latin American Masters. Such is the case of Rufino Tamayo’s “Sandias” that fetched $997,000 at auction. As a curator, Ms. Henaine has been the organizer of widely reviewed national and international exhibitions, these among many contributions by Ms. Henaine to the expanding field of Latin American Art.

Reyna Henaine as an ambassador for the finest of Latin American art.
As New Yorkers, we are surrounded by art. But we are not surrounded by high quality Latin American art. As a gallery owner, curator and art advisor, Reyna has exposed the finest art of Mexico and other parts of Latin America to so many people in Westchester and in New York City. Every time I walk into my home and see the beautiful painting I acquired from Reyna, I am happy that she has introduced me to something new. She is a supporter of so many varied and interesting artists, art jewelers and sculptors from Latin America — and while they are all unique and different, there is a common thread uniting them: the accomplished eye and unique expertise of Reyna Henaine.
I attended many of Reyna’s openings, along with gallery talks by artists. Every time she has a show or sells a work of art to someone, she is bringing a new audience to the artists of Latin America. While in Westchester, Reyna was able to bring a high level of art and culture to an area where it is not as prevalent. While Westchester is just outside Manhattan, Reyna brought a higher level of artistic sophistication to the area.
I would like to say that she brings a very special set of talents and attributes to the United States. She is definitely an asset to the art community — and to the community at large.
Sincerely,
Leslie Long, Writer and Photographer, New York 2005

Having grown up with Diego Rivera and Orozco images, it was a treat to see the Mexico show at the College of New Rochelle:”Mexico Yesterday and Today” offered the opportunity to see so many Mexican artists I knew nothing about and whose work was fresh and exciting.
Thank you, Reyna, for curating this important show.

Dear Reyna,
On behalf of The College of New Rochelle and Castle Gallery’s Board of Directors, Katrina Rhein and I would both like to thank you so much for all of your hard work on our recent exhibition, Presence of Mexico! We really enjoyed not only the superb selection of artists and works you chose for the exhibit, but also the opportunity to work so closely with you on this special project. The generosity of your time and efforts as well as your willingness to provide free-guided tours to interested school and cultural groups goes above and beyond your responsibilities as a curator. Your passion for the art and culture of Mexico is apparent in all that you do. You never cease to amaze Katrina and I with your limitless knowledge, including your ability to conduct tours in English, Spanish and French. It is theses values that have made this process so enjoyable for the members of the Castle Gallery staff and a truly memorable exhibition for both our new and old visitors alike.
Presence of Mexico has been so warmly received by the college and local communities – and you yourself were witness to the diverse number of groups who were overly excited by the possibility of touring the exhibition under your guidance over the past three months.
Thank you again for making this exhibition so successful. Best of luck with the numerous projects you are involved with in the near future.
